ALL90 / FOOTBALL GUIDE

Meet the league.
Follow its evolution.

Three starting points for newcomers to Turkish football, supporters following their club and readers interested in how the game changes.

Where should you start with Turkish football?

18clubs in this Süper Lig season
34league fixtures per club
68completed seasons since 1959

The Süper Lig is Türkiye’s top national division. In 2026/27 every club meets each opponent at home and away. A win earns three points and a draw one. The Turkish Cup is a separate competition; European results do not add league points.

We retain the published official order when points are tied. Applying one tiebreak rule to every historical season would be misleading: groups, finals and play-offs also feature in the archive.

Six season champions, six different histories

Beşiktaş’s two recognised pre-1959 titles belong to its official club total, but are not added to this 68-season series. Season counts and season champions therefore share the same scope.

Who has picked up pace in the last five?

2026/27 · 2026-10-26 · League matches only. Each club’s own last five games, not necessarily an identical calendar window.

Amed SFK earned 13/15 points from the last 5 league games. This short window is not a ranking of underlying strength for the whole season.

How has the league’s balance changed?

The champion’s name cannot tell the whole story. We look at how concentrated points are and how often matches end by a wide margin. These are different measures, not substitutes.

Top-four points concentration: 1959/60 157.67 → 2025/26 151.99. Two endpoints cannot establish a trend; every eligible season is shown below.

How concentrated are points among the top four?

100 = equal sharing. Higher values mean greater concentration. Gaps mark excluded multi-phase seasons.

Period rates divide qualifying matches by all matches, rather than averaging seasonal percentages. The first and last periods are shorter. The points index covers 65 single-stage seasons; the margin analysis covers 64 reconciled fixture seasons. Awarded scores are included.

These charts do not directly measure financial inequality, player quality or the quality of play. The tables alone cannot establish causes.
